PARIS, May 1. *■ A French communique reports violent artillerying between St. Quentin ancl the Oise and Chemin-des-Dames.
.' After violent artillery preparation m Champagne the French infantry thi? afternoon attacked the enemy knes on both sides of Mt. Cornillet, and carried several lines of fortified trenches between Mt. Cornillet a.nd south of Beine. the depth ranging from 500 to 1000 metres.
We also pushed forward our lines on the north and north-eastern slopes of High Mount as far as the ManroyMoronvillers road.
Violent artillerying continues. Our aeroplanes- bombed aerodrome,-» at Colman, Haeseim,'and Frascaty, and six railway stations and bivouacs.
