MORE THAN HALF MILLION HAVE DIED OF STARVATION.

ROME, Jan. 19. Five hundred and ten thousand persons have died of starvation m Syria, according to information received by the Corriere D'ltilia. Lebanon is said to have suffered particularly, while at Beirut inhabitants are said to have been picked up on the streets nearly dying of hunger. The number of suicides is increasing to appalling proportions. Similar horrors are reported as occurring m Palestine and parts of the interior inhabited by Christians.
