ENEMY ATTACKS REPULSED.
VIOLENT ARTILLERY ACTIONS (Australian and N.Z. Cable Association.. LONDON, February 1. Sir Douglas Haig reports: — Wo repulsed attacks m the neighborhood of Beaucourt and westward of Ser«s. A Belgian communique reports : — Our artillery, infantry and machine-gun, fire drove back German detachments approaching our post eastward of Peroyne and southward of Snoord-Schoote, after a violent bombardment. A French communique reports somewhat violent artillery actions at differentpoints, especially m the sector east of Rheims and on the right of the Meuse.
