The president's report. Mated: "During the year 111 shooting Ik'eN.ses and 63 fishing .licenses have been issued. Five full season licenses, 1 monthly, 4 weekly, and 5 daily licenses Mcl'i'. i-sslied by him. Kuquiries are being made a.s to the mutability «>f introducing fresh lish to prevent the stock deteriorating, but "satisfactory replies have not yet been received", July is the season for stocking, and it is hoped to have I'uJL advice before then. Enquiry ■ was made into a, supposed case of shoot- I ing out of season on Repongaere lake, but this appeals not to have taken place. Three pairs of laughing jackasses were imported from Australia for and at the cost of Mr Loisel, of -Waihau. The necessary permission for their importation wa^ obtained from the Minister for Internal Affairs. The coming season is an open one, and reports give reason to expect a good head of game, whioh appear to be increasing m the district. Probably the triennial years of sanctuary are a factor' in this result. I M-otild urge upon" property-owners to assist m the protection of the game of the district by preventing unauthouscd trespassing on their lands with guns." The balance-sheet showed that the receipts for the year were : Bank balance at 31st .March, 1914, £99 3s lOd, members' subscriptions £1, fishing licenses £49 17s 6d, shooting licenses £109 4s, refund on hawks' feet £2 9s 6d ; total, £261 14s lOd. The expenditure amounted to £133 8s sd, including salary £10, advertising £23 7k, hawks' feet £20, pheasaijts £59 15s. 'pheasant feed £10 19s Id., the balance being £128 6s su. Tn addition to this balance, the assets showed an item of £10 for a. game run. Some discussion took place about the rearing of pheasants, and it was decided to give a bonus of 10s per head for all birds four months old returned to the societv, the society to supply . stock
birds. It was mentioned that next . year would be a close year for all game. The balance-sheet was adopted. The election of ollicers was proceeded with. Mr J. R. Redstone was re-elect-ed president for the ensuing year, with Mr T. H olden vice-president; committee, Messrs M. J5. Mander. Aislabrie.; Polo. G. Witter*. O. Hansen, Jackman, W. Perver. I"*,. M*.
