DEATH OF CAPTAINIPANKOW.
Captain Henry Fankow died on Wednesday at the Sanatorium, Rotorua, where he had been for treatment for the last two months. He retired from the sea three years ago. last October, when captain' of the ketch Coronation, ' In the early days of Poverty Bay he had much business with the late Captain Read, and for over 25 years tawed with hia own vessel, the scnooner Gisborne. -". Gip; tain Pankow is known to many of the old settlers of Poverty Bay, also to tbe shipping trade of Auckland, where he was much respected. He leaves a widow, son and daughter.
