REPORTED NAVAL DISASTER

It is rumored that the cruisers Aboukir, Cressy, and Hogue have been torpedoed by German submarines m the North Sea. [H.M.S. Aboukir is an armored cruiser built at Govan m 1902, with a displacement of 12,000 tons, a speed of 21.6 knots," an indicated horse-power of 21,375, her chief- armament consisting of 2 9.2-inch guns, 12 6-inch, 12 12---pounders, and 5 3-pounders. Her crew comprises 755 men. The vessel cost £751,118. H.M.S. She carried a crew of 755 men. The vessel cost £749,809.].
