GETTING INTO OIL

NEW PLYMOUTH, last night
" Strong gas indications experienced m the rotary bore of Taranaki New Zealand oil wells during the past few days lead to the' hope of further developments as the bore is carried deeper. £Hnce Saturday the bore has been deepened 9ft, and on Monday night, as sandpumping operations were proceeding, a sudden outburst of oil, gas^ And mud was twice thrown over tne iopJof the derrick. /."I Early this morning another. T>k>w-out yielded fifteen barrels' of pure ©ii^which were aaved, The force waa *r «n , great that it disconnected the twp-)ilj|ft pipe leading to the tank outside tfteMJore. Activity was continued all qfcy, and the latest report from the manager is that the bore is freeing itself of mud and getting into oil.
