SALVARSAN TREATMENT.
(Press Assn.—By Telegrapb— Copyright.) (London Times and Sydney Sun Services.) (Received April 6, 8.30 a.m.) LONDON, April 5. At an inquest on the body of a clerk who had died of arsenical poisoning after ealvarsan treatment, Dr Frederick Womack gave evidence that there had been only 150 deaths due to salvarsan throughout the world. There was such a thing as idiosyncrasy iv connection with salvarsan, but it rarely occurred. This) undoubtedly was such a case, when the blood, which was abnormal, rendered salvarsan more than usually soluble, the effect being similar" to an overdose. He preferred neosalvarsan, which had been used successfully ih 750 cases at St. Bartholomew's 1 Hospital. The public had nothing to fear from salvarsan. It was less dangerous than chloroform.
