The presence of the AA-rcck of the Star of Canada on the. rocks of the Kaiti beach aavis the subject of some outspoken criticism oh the part of Mr 11. Fletcher, chairman of the Wellington Harbor Board, when discussing his recent visit to Gisborne Avith Mr H. DeCosta, Avho has just returned from a visit to the Empire City. Mr Fletcher declared that m the 'interests of the port it Avas a crying shame that the Avreckage should be permitted to remain an eyesore and a stigma to Poverty Bay. He considered that it Avas such a bad advertisement to Gisborne that the harbor authorities should blow the wreckage up, and incidentally stated that it Avas intended to remove the Avreck of the DeA'on, .which lay stranded on the rocks beneath Pencarrow light, at the entrance to Wellington harbor.
