KINO'S EQUERRY IN TROUBLE
LONDON, July 1. Brigadier-General Count Gleichen, extra Equerry, to the King, is *n trouble with the War Ojjfice, owing to a speech made by him lately m Belfast, where he commands ..the 15th Infantry. Brigade. The Count was "reported "to." have said that gentlemen like Mr Keir Hardie, Mr Carnegie, and other pacificists must be suffering from softening of the brain, arid that he was. delighted to learn that the Government .was about to introduce a Bill to.take care.of feeble-minded children. . Count Gleichen " subsequently apologised t ; o. the, War Office' for his Utterances, which .he admitted misrepresented the Government. The matter was referred to m the House of Commons on Friday, when it was announced that "appropriate action. had been taken;
