TIMARU, last night, , A large and representative meeting of employers and shippers this afternoon passed the following resolution and sent it to the Union S.S. C0..:-»---"This meeting deplores the action of the Union S.S. Co., in employing Federation laborers who have broken their agreement repeatedly, instead of employing the men who came to the assistance of the shipping companies and enabled the vessels to be worked on the occasion of the recent- strike, and would ask the Union Co. wliat attitude it intends to adopt in future." WANGANUI, last night, At the Chamber of Commerce meeting to-night a resolution was passed, endorsing the action of the Wellington Chamber of Commerce* in protesting against the alleged proposal of the shipping companies to make a compact with the Federation of Labor to exclude free labor.
