MILITARY EXEMPTION.

WELLINGTON, this day. A new regulation governing the granting of exemption 'for compulsory mili-. tary training has .been approved by the "Minister of "IJefence., '. ' It provides that ' a member of military forces desirous pf kibtaining exemption from personal service^ on. the grounds that undue hardship is caused by the requirements of such service, will first give 14 days' notice to the officer commanding his unit-, 'and., at ..the. expiration-, ot that period* the appiicaiit, will rnake written application to the nearbst Magistrate's Court. The officer commanding the unit -will inquire into the merits of each case, and within the fourteen, days will notify -tie •• clerk of J>he'\Mis©strate's ._ Court whether he recommends or intends to oppose the application.
