LONDON, March 26. j A kitchen belonging to Messrs Debenhams (Limited), m which all the heat is "supplied by electricity, was opened for inspection on Monday. The kitchen, which is, the first of its kind m London en a comprehensive scale, is employed feolely for the purpose of cooking luncheons for ..Messrs Debenhams' employees. It has a N capacity for, 800 meals daily, and is at present supplying 350 to 400. The plant has beep designed by the Borough bf St. \larylebone Electric Supply, who have also superintended its installation and furnish the electric energy at Jd a unit. ( The caterer pays for all the current consumed m the kitchen, and he states that he is satisfied that even at. Id a unit it would not be possible to work at a less cost by using coal or gas, that there is a saving m the meat of aboutlib m 121 b, and that, m addition to other advantages, the kitchen is always clean. It has now been in 'use for about seven monfhsj and As stated to have been quite trustworthy m Operation.
