FIELDER— LAW.

A wedding m which the interest of a lai-ge circle of friends was centred took place this afternbn at "Maheno," the residence of Mr R. S. Caulton, Sheehanstreet, Mr James Fielder, eldest son of Mr H. Fielder, of Gisborne, being married to Miss Lizzie Law, fourth daughter of. Mr W. Law, of Gisborne. Tlie ceremony was conducted by the Rev. Father - Lane. The bride was becomingly attired 1 m a gown of rich ivory satin charmeuse, x with bertha and sleeve puffs of aleucon lace. Tlie draped corsage, was trimmed Avith pearl embroideries and fringes, which continued down the side of the skirt. The court train fell from the shoulders artd was edged round with heavy silk cord, and finished m tAvo points on Avhich were worked true lovers' knots m pearls. A decided novelty was al Chatelaine bag, Avhich Avas suspended from tlie waist by handsome It cord and tassels. Tlie bridesmaids Avere Miss I». Law (sister of bride) and Miss M. Fielder (sister of bridegroom). They wore gowns of ciel blue taffeta, Avith long tunic, adorned with applique, and bordered with bugle and blue head fringe. The- bodices were arranged m single wide revers, m pointed shape, becomingly drarJed. Black satin sashes and black hats were worn. The bride was attended 1 ' by tAvo little children,' "Miss. E. Rowe (niece of bride), .and .Master. V. S. Caulton (nepheAv. of bride). Mr Albert Law officiated as best man Amongst the dresses of those present were : Mrs Law, crepe de chene, with ' black silk lace trimmings and black hat ; Mrs Fielder, grey tailor-made costume; Mrs Caulton, grey satin, oriental trimmings and hat. to match; Mrs McKenzie^ tussore sillc and silk trimmings. A large number of valuable presents Avere received, including a silver salad bowl from the local Post and Telegraph staff, suitably engraved. The young couple leave, for Wellington by J this evening's steamer. j
