The cow-testing movement is spread- 1 ing in Taranaki. Suppliers to the Kaul--pokonui factory are testing 3278 cows this year, against 2000 last season. "It all depends on sixpence," said a large of the Wanganui Freezing Company, when referring to the success or otherwise of the company's operations. "If the price received for our sheep goes up sixpence per head at Home, we can present a big credit balance ; if the price drops sixpence per head we make a loss. Thjs can be understood when the large number of sheep put through each year is taken into account.
