THE TAUPO RAILWAY.
I (Per Press Association.) • WELLINGTON, this day. ' A special committee of the House today/ 1 farther considered the Taupo Totara Tim Her Company's petition to extend its railway, and to acquire a certain area of native lands. W. C- Kensington, Under-Secretary of Crown Lands, gave evidence as to the area of Crown land that may be influenced by the proposed extension, and as to the general character of the country. The immediate area of. Crown land to benefit will be 166,800 acres inside a radius of 30 ihiles Outside this 184,441 acres would benefit m a secondary way.
