The prolonged spell of dry weather at Ashburton is having a prejudicial effect on the prospects of farmers, and feed is diminishing m a very serious manner. The Water m tho races, too, is beginning to diminish m volumo, and the county overseer has experienced a good deal of difficulty of late m forcing moro water into the mains from the Ashburton river.
