Newcastle reports that the strike has. been settled, have been officially confirmed. It is expected that work will be resumed on Monday.

There is genei'al satisfaction at the termination of the strike. The terms of settlement are not yet available. Pre parations are m hand for making a start on Monday morning. (Received March 12, 10.25 a.m.)
