(Per Press Association.) .'-...,' AUCKLAND, this day. A seven-year-old girl, Barbara Becher; playing with others in empty trucks at Ahuroa, fell oil -the rails. The wheel of a truck passed over her leg. The child was sent by/ special train to Auckland hospital, butidied ou the journey. . , WELLINGTON, this day. Richard Thomas, a cook, aged 41 years, was found drowned near the King's wharf yesterday afternoon. At the inquest it was shown that deceased had been committed to prison for drunkenness recently, and some weeks ago ho attempted, suicide. A verdict of found drowned was returned. NELSO'N, this day. William Dapp, a farmer at Baton, was found dead in liis hop ki.br last Sunday. Two workmen, intending to leave their swag at the kilin, saw the^body on opening the door. At the inquiest a verdict was returned of valvular disease of tlie heart. Deceased was aged 64'. He survived his late wife by only a few months.
