AUSTRALIA'S POLITICAL CRISIS.
WHAT WILL MR DEAKIN DO? THE PREMIER. TO RESIGN. (Press Assn.— By Telegraph. — Copyright.) MELBOURNE, April 10. The political situation is causing j much speculation. Ministers held a conI sultation. and the Labor causus discussled the situation, to-day. Mr Deakin | and Sir Wm. Lyne also conferred with Mr Fisher and Mr Watson. ' Many rumor 3 are current. One is that Mr Deakin intends to retire and that Sir Wm. Lyne will attempt to form a coalition administration with the Labor party. It is stated that strong pressure is being brought to bear upon Mr Deakin to induce him to take another view of the situation. (Received 1 April 11, 10.10 a.m.) MELBOURNE, April 11. Mr Deakin, the Prime Minister, resigns on Wednesday. The caucus was a noisy gathering. Those who had 'brought about the crisis were taken to task, but stuck to their | guns. Mr Cook, the deputy leader of the Opposition, says : This is one of those crisis m which the Opposition had absolutely nothing •to do but look on.
