AN UNSETTLED CONDITION. (Press Assn. — By Telegraph. — Copyright.) SYDNEY, April 10. ! The chief point of issue when the Conference adjourned on Wednesday i was whether members of the Institution of Marine Engineers should return to work, while allowing engineers engaged on coiistol boats during the 'strike complete the terms of their agreement with companies, some of which, it is stated, run to ; 12 months. A ballot of the Institute to-day decided, to. allow free engineers to complete agreements. Subsequently a meeting .of representatiyes of the coastal companies accepted the provisional agreement. A meeting of the Unions affected is now m! progress/ The latest report is that they refused certain proposals for an agreement and that the strike remains unsettled 1 . .
