♦ (Per Press Association.) WELLINGTON, last night. The Marine Department has sent an order Home for the light to be placed at Tuahine Point, Poverty Bay. The lighthouse thei'e was burnt down about eighteen months ago, and the new one, after construction by the Government, will be maintained b'v the Gisborne Harbor Board. The plans forwarded to the firm supplying the lantern are expected back in two months' time, and a start ■will then be made with the erection ol a tower. This will be ready by the tiim the lantern arrives, befoi'e the end oi the year. It is to be an acetylene light, of the fourth order, made to bum continuously for forty days without attention. This will do away with the neces si.ty of appointing a keeper, as the- 'Point is Very difficult of access and too steer to permit the erection of a keeper's house.
