(Per Press Association.) ' GORE, this day. A meeting of Gor e retailers, held yester- i day, forwarded a protest to the Miuister for Labor uguinst the proposed change m the half-holiday at workrooms attached to retail premises to Saturday, and asking, that the present arrangement be allowed to continue. The Hon. Mr Millar replied that he regretted he could not do as requested. The Factories Act provided that Saturday shall bo observed as the holiday and as he had to administer tho law, not to make it, he had no option but to insist on it being observed, leaving Parliament, who mado tlve law, to alter it if it thinks lit.
