WAIAPU ELECTION.
Mr W. L. Clayton addressed a largelyattended meeting of electors at Orniond last night, Mr W. K. Chambers in the clmir. His speech included comments on the attitude of this paper towards his candidature, and he ako dealt with statements made by Mr Gurroll. A number of questions were answered satisfactorily, and a vote of thanks was accorded Mr Clayton on the motion of Mr Graham, seconded by ilr Davke.
Mi' H. H. Wall, Opposition candidate, addressed the To Arai valley settlers last evening, Mr C. J. Parker in the chair. Mr Wall's address was on the lines of hi« previous speeches, and in the course of his remarks he mentioned that he had been ottered lii.s expenses bv the supporters of another candidate if he would retire, but he had determined to go to the poll. At tho close of his address a hearty vote of thanks was accorded him on tlie motion of Mi- J. Parker, seconded by Mr Hay. Mr Wall speaka at Haugaroa on Thursday.
