EDUCATION BOARD.
(Special to Herald.) NAPIER, this day. At the Education Board meeting to-day Mr S. McLeraon was re-appointed- the Boardfs representative on the High School Board of Governors. Messrs Tanner and Paterson were appointed School Commissioners, the latter taking the Rev. Mr Sidey's place. Messrs Comrie and Hill were instructed to revise tlie regulations, including a clause dealing with oorporal punishment. Replies received from country bodies, regarding the question of establishing agricultural classes were not definite, and the scheme has therefore fallen through,. The Board/ decided that fresh tenders should be called for a school at Whatatutu. Miss Craighead has been appointed assistant at Ormond, and Mass Stevens pupil teacher at Patutahi. Tlie tender for a new school at Port Awanui was referred to the Inspcotor. The sum ,of £7 was granted for. painting at Tolaga Bay.
