RAID ON WEDDING BREAKFAST.
(Per Press Association.) AUOKLAND, this day. Seven boys who were concerned m a raid upon a wedding breakfast at the residence of Mr Thomas H. Garland m Ponsxmby on February 16th were charged before Mr S. E. McCarthy, S.M., yesterday. Sub-Inspector Black stated that the articles were laid out upon a table m a tent. Two of the boys got through the fence while the other boys waited m the next garden and duly received theii' share of the cake and fruit winch was appropriated. Articles on the table were broken, and the total damage amounted to £3 10s. The prosecutor, who did not press the charge, said the principal damage .was the Breaking of the wedding cake. One of the boys' parents assured the Magistrate that the case was a very frivolous one, and there was only the usual "bin-canning indulged m at wed. dings, .but his Worship expressed sur* prise at anyone attempting to justify wilful mischief and theft, and said the case was one m which he should warn tlie boys that 'they -would be severely dealt wsith if they came before him again. He ordered defendants to pay lis each towards the damage and expense of the proceed-
