Major Baden-Powell's newest invention is a boat capable of Hying m tho air as well as of floating on tho water. The winged boat is to bo tried at the Crystal Palace next mouth. The scheme is for the boat, which is provided with outstretched wings like a, bird, to tako a flying leap through tho air after rushing down the water chute, aud to comfortably alight on the Crystal Palace laic for a sail.
