Captain Edwin telegraphed at noon : "Strong to moderate southerly nvands, changing eastward; glass rise; sea and tides moderate; expect frost." East Cape reported this morning : "S.E. breeze; barometer 30.10; thermometer 54; ram; passing clouds ; gloomy, dark weather; moderate swell, decreasing fast." Light variable winds were reported from various parts of the colony to-day, witii generally gloomy weather. Rough seas were reported from Tiritiri, Tauranga, Castlepoint. Farewell Spit, Otimaru, and Port Chalmers.
