CURRANT MONOPOLY.
♦ (Per Press Association.) LONDON, May 23. The Greek currant monopoly has been completed. An English syndicate purchases the entire annual crop, estimated at 150,000 tons, at fixed prices, the growers also receive 50 per cent, profit after a dividend of 6 per cent, has been paid. The Federation of Grocers of the United Kingdom has wired to the King of Greece a protest against the monopoly, which it is intended determinedly to oppose.
