A patrol dhow in eliiirgo of Lieutenant Beva-n, manned by six i;lut'jaek«t.H, and with a threi'pounikr, made a valuable captiut: off the Somali coast. Those- on bfxird feigned distress and sent a Somali native to the masthead to signal. They lured a.n Arab diiow within rang.:, and a thrilling fight ensued. Inu dhow was captured and found to be in possession of French papers from Jibuti], also having eighty French rilles, ten thousand rounds of ammunition, seven thousand revolvers and cartridges, intended to be- sent to the Mullah by a circuitous route. These were confiscated, and the dhow sunk.
