IRISH M.PS SUED.

LORD DE FREYNE'S ACTION AGAINST IRISH LEAGUE. LONDON, June 21. Lord De Freyne lias at last been moved to take action against the United Irish League. - His lordship will seek in the Irish law courts an injunction to restrain the defendants, of .whom there are thirty-one, including Messra John Redmond, William O'Brien, John Dillon, O'Donell, Swift MaeNeill, P. White, E. Haviland, Burke, Conor O'Kelly,, and W. Duffy, and other three M.P.'s from acts of illegal conspiracy to procure non-payment of rents, intimidation, procuring boycotting, etc., on the De Frpyne estate, Roscommon. Damages are also claimed. Members of the standing committee or directory of the United Irish League, Mr Michael Davitf, and the Freeman's Journal, are also sxied. Ii is alleged that the defendants have made speeches in connection with the agrarian movement on Lord De Freyne's estate, and the matter has created quite a sensation in Dublin. It is expected that the trial will be the mtost important heard in Ireland for years. In an interview last night Colonel Saunderson, M.P., said Lord De Freyne's action was the first step in a system of organised defence of the landlords. The landlords of Ireland have now resolved to take concerted action to meet organised attack. There are sufficient funds behind the landlords to fight any battle which may arise, Lord De Freyne's case is being supported by the Property Defence Association. There are tliree or four similar cases which are on the point of being brought info the courts.
