Dr Davis is gazetted as public vaccinator for Waiapu district. Messrs. McDonald and Co. have bought the stock in the bankrupt estate of G. P. B. Stewart at 10s in the £. She .really declared her own age at much more, but. there is reason to believe that her claims as a centenarian are well founded. The Gjsbome Rowing Club Committee met last evening and decided that at present nothing further should be done in connection with the proposed interclub banner races. This is mainly due to the lateness of the season and to the number of meni in work for the Easter "rep." fixtures. The Poverty Bay Rowing Club Committee meet this evening to discuss arrangements for the Easter social, and among other things .tne banner question will probably be discussed. Should they decide to take it up, the- Gisborne Club will put a crew in the field. Friday, March 29th, is announced as the date of the Gisborne School Concert. A quiet but 7 pretty wedding was solemnised this afternoon at Mr J. Erskine's residence, when Mr E. Swinnerton was married to Miss Erskine. . The Rev. J. G. Paterson conducted the service. The bride was dressed in electric blue serge, with surah and lace, and wore a sprig of orange blossoms. Her costume was completed by two gold brooches and a bangle. She was attended by her six sisters, and the Misses Phyllis Oman, May Riddel, and Eva Haache. The latter wore a cream silk blouse and lustre skirt, and the other bridesmaids were prettily attired . in white' hailstorm muslin and satin trimmings. Mr J. Adair filled the post of best man, and Mr 0. Redstone acted as groomsman. Mrs Erskine, stepmother of the bride, was dressed in black surah silk ; Mrs Riddel wore a black silk blouse and lustre skirt, and Miss Steele a white silk blouse and lustre skirt. Mr Erskine gave the bride away. The happy couple wiere the recipients of many handsome and useful presents. They will spend their honeymoon at Rotorua and Te Aroha
