"BANJO" PATERSON.

» ■ ■- - Nome of the Australian special correspon' dents in South Africa saw eo much of the campaign as »he brilliant journalist who is to appear in the Theatre Royal to-morrow evening. Arriving at the Cape at an early stage in the war, he marched with the New Zealand and Australian Contingents from Capetown to Pretoria, and witnessed nearly all the principal eveota. Besides being special correspondent for the two leading Australian newspapers, Mr Paterson was Renter's representative, a position which brought him into close contaot with the various generals, from Lord Roberts downwards, and he seems to have been allowed to go wherever he liked. He was not, however, in his cables and letters, exempted from the operations of the mill*, tary censors, so that on the platform he explains much that has hitherto remained obsenre. The man who has been through it all can lighten up the dark corners and solve the difficulties that often puzzle the readers of war news. Mr Paterson does this, and his lectures everywhere have excited intense interest. His verbal descriptions are illustrated by an excellent series of kinematograph and limelight views taken from his own snapshots, the former being advertised as the only authentio pictures of the war exhibited in the colony. Reserved seats for either lecture may be secured at Miller's.
