TE ARAI V. RANGINUI. The above clubs met on Saturday for the first time this season, on the latter club's grounds at the Reay station. The Rangimii Club provided a matting wicket, which played very well. Te Arai, losing the toss, took the field, and disposed of their opponents for the small score of 36, R. Parker, with 7, being the highest scorer. W. Gibson aud Hoki opened the batting for Te Arai. The latter was caught with the score at 28. EL Gibaon then joined his brother, and quickly rail up 17, the second wiokeb falling for 66. Te Reinga was the next, and a lengthened stand was made, and 171 was the total when W. Gibson was caught by D. Parker. The retiring batsman's score was 114, which was compiled in a masterly manner, the field being treated to continuous leather banting in all direotions. Te Reinga carried bis bat for 28, and deserves great credit for holding up his wicket in his partnership with W, Gibson, 105 runs being put on whilst these two were together. The total at tho call of time was 190 for four wickets. For Te Arai Crawford bowled well, capturing 5 wickets for 6 runß, as did W. Gibson, 4 for 18. For Ranainui Frank Parker was the most successful bowler, getting 2 wiokets for 15. The Misses Parker kindly provided afternoon tea, which was most acceptablo, and added much to the afternoon's pleasure.
