The New South Wales and New Zealand athletes, who arrived by the Zealandia, leave for Brisbane to-night. The New Zealanders practised a little yesterday, and created an excellent impression. PERTH, Nov. 2. Two miners unearthed a 490-ouncej nugget near Marble Bar. ADELAIDE, Nov. 3. Arrived : Steamer Darius. The details of her last voyage from Melbourne to Ceylon, when shs broke her propeller shaft, show that the accident happened 650 miles from the coast of Sumatra. The second officer, Reginald Lyon Iristone, two passengers, and five Lascars volunteered to obtain assistance, and were twelve days knocking about in an open boat, exposed to a succession of gales, varied by intense heat. The rudder was smashed and the boat became leaky, and the men Buffered great hardships before they were picked up 100 miles from Sumatra. The party reached Calcutta the same day as the Darius was towed in.
