SIX, — You mention in to-day's issue that Professor Fall), of Vienna, announces that "on November 13th, 1899, a comet will strike the earth, and that I lie end of the world is to be the result.'' May i be permitted to say that (so far as the destruction of the earth is concerned) on the 13th November, 189!), it will be found that Professor Falb, ot Vienna, ''hath spoken without knowledge." (Job xxxiv., 3.>.) It is written in the Scriptures of Truth that the Lord Jesus Christ muxt reign until all His enemies arc subdued under Him. (I. Corinthians, xv. ) And the earth (amongst other places) is to be the scene of His righteous government, not in mere nominal Christianity or even in true Christianity as in this dispensation, but He is to rule in power and put all enemies under His feet. Prior to this the saints of this dispensation, or day of (/race, will have been removed from the earth 10 the heavens, and | then He will usher in His glorious reign with most appalling judgments, rooting out of His kingdom all that offend and work iniquity. (Matthew xiii., 40-43.) Therefore, though terrible judgments arc shortly to fall upon the earth, the earth itself remains, until all God's purposes concerning it are accomplished. After which it is to be burned up, according to 11. Peter iii. 7. — to end. Then will be set up the Great White Throne of final judgment for the -wicked dead, then the lake of fire, lint the believer knows that when God's purposes concerning this present earth are fulfilled that He will create new heavens and a new earth wherein will dwell righteousness.
