Dr Jameaon was re-exam.jnad before the Transvaal Raid Commjttea with reference to the statement that Sir John Willoughby's letter to the War Office was written with a view to prevent his fellow officers losing their comtnissious. The statement that tho Imperial authorities authorised the expedition exceeded anything witness had said or implied. Sir John Willoughby, re-examined, said his legal adviser worded the letter sent to tho War Office. His only objeot was to save the other officers. He coneuried in Dr Jameson's evidenoe, '
