Melbourne; Oot. 1. The Premier haa received'replies from the different colonies to his request asking them to co-operate with the Hon. D. Gillies, Agent-General, with a view of giving effect to the recommendation of the Hobart Postal Convention in regard to the Pacific cable. The South Australian Government declines to accede, and Tasmania is unable to undertake the financial responsibility ; bnt the other colonies accept Mr Turner's proposal*
