Thursday Isi,ani>, July 27. Water is flowing in and out of the fore compartment of the Argus. Four hundred tons of coal have been jettisoned. The wind is freshening, and if it increases it is expected the vessel will work badly on. the reef. [The Argus left Melbourne, on July 13tb> for Colombo, Madras and Calcutta. She is a steel screw steamer, her dimensions being : length 325 ft ; breadth 40ft sin ; depth 24ft ; tonnage. 2792. She was built in 1889 by the Palmers Company, and is owned by A. Currie and Co., of Melbourne. She has been some time engaged in the Eastern trade.]
