WANDERERS V. GISBORNE.
The above junior match eventuated on No. 2 ground, and all through the game was very evenly contested. In the first spell Gisborno started short-handed, but despite this fact they gave their opponents all they could do to keep them from scoring. Driberg secured a try for the Wanderers, which was not converted. In the second spell Wanderers had the best of the struggle, their superior weight and condition telling against the Gisbornites. Lindsay and Taylor both scored a try each for Wanderers, but no goal was placed from either of them, the game thus ending in favor "of the champions of last year by 9 points to nil. For the winners, Hillson, Driberg, and McKenzie were the best of the backs, and Lindsay, Smith, and Harris in the forwards. For the losers, G. Evans, Porter, and McCredie did good service in the backs, and in the forward division Buscke, Bennett, and Askenbeck worked hard. Mr Ooleboiitne performed the duties of referee.
