The Prince of Wales conducted Nasrullah Khan to the Epsom course to witness the Derby race. May, 30.— The Ameer's son received a cordial reception at Windsor Castle. The Queen, the Duke of Connaught, Prince and Princess Louise met him at the entrance to the castle. Elaborate preparations have been made for the ceremony. Her Majesty conversed for half an hour with Nasrullah Khan. The Japanese Ambassador in London states that one result of the recent war will be to open up large commercial benefits to | the Australasian colonies. Washington, May 29. Senator Sherman, in addressing the | Republicans, said he supported the bimetallic | system, as he believed if the" monometallists were free to demonetise silver it meant the repudiation of half the national and private debts of the country, and also reduced the value of workers' earnings. Paris, May SO. The native Egyptians have presented a largely-signed petition to the French phaj^.. ber of Deputies asking for the protection of mixed European tribunals against the native courts. : .
