Attack on a Quartermaster.

« — Wellington, to-day.— Late last night foar or five firemen on the Kaikoura set upon the quartermaster, Harris, one of them attacking him with a bottle, and another with a sailor's knife. The interven tion of other seamen probably saved Harris ■from severe injuries, but he received naßty jagged wounds on both arms, and was considerably knocked about all over the back and top of the head. George Todd and Jeremiah Crawley were afterwards arrested for participation in the assault.
