The Corean War.
London, August 22. In tbe House of Commons Sir E. Grey, Parliamentary Secretary to the Foreign Office, said he hoped the belligerents m the East would respect the treaty ports m both Umpires. Great Britain would not move till occasion required it. Shanghai, August 22. Mr N. O'Connor, British Minister to China, bad a long interview with the Chinese Viceroy at Tientsin, and afterwards accompanied the Russian Minister to Chefoo. Both officials are trying to settle the dispute. August 23 —It is stated that 25,000 troops were engaged on each side m Friday's fighting. Besides the loan publicly raised Japanese nobles have subscrilwsd 80,000,000 dollars to the expenses of the war without interest.
