PARLIAMENTARY.

(From our Special Reporter.) Wellington, to-day,

LOCAL BILLS,

A special sitting of the House was held last night for the purpose of considering Local Bills. The first on the order paper was the Onehunga Cemetery Bill, fo"r which the lady Mayor has been actively lobbying. This measure was resisted on the principle that cemeteries should not be established within boroughs, and finally was shelved, progress being reported by 30 to 20. It was six o'clock before the House rose this morning, a Btonewall having taken place in committee on the Riverton Harbor Board Empowering Bill, which eventually got through. , The following measures passed the third reading : Wellington City Drainage Empowering, Ocean Beach, Domain Amendment, Timaru Harbour District Rating, and Timaru Harbor Reclamation Bill.
