The Fire on s.s. Ruahine.

Hobart, March 29,

The lire on the Ruahine broke out among the parcels of periodicals for New Zealand. Water and steam was used to quench the (lames, but without avail, and the fire burned four days bofore it was mastered. The vessel herself and the passengers' quarters were not damaged. As the Ruahino had a full complement of passengers, she was unable to bring on the passengers of the s.s. lonic (which broke her shaft).
