H.B. JOCKEY CLUBS AUTUMN MEETING.

Napier, yesterday. The weather was gloriously fine for the Jockey ( Unlrs races, but the going was a trifle heavy. The attendance was large, and among the visitors were the Governor and his party, who arrived at Hastings yesterday. The following is the details of the racing : — First Hurdles: Kaimanawa (Redmond) 1, Gondolier (Gilpin) 2, Marehael Neil (Ray) 3 ; all started ; won easily from Gondolier, the rest pulling up. Total on machine, £728, on winner £oG } div., £11 10s; time, 4mins 10 2-sth sees. Autumn Handicap, 1 mile : Queen of Trumps (MeGrath) I, Scot Free (Gall) 2, Muriwai (King) 3 ; all started but Morion ; won by a short head ; time, Imin 57 2-5 sec ; div. £5 3 ; Scot Free was favorite. Cup. I Merganser ... ... ... 1 Thame 2 Lochness ... ... ... ... 3 A splendid race. Maid of Lome made the running nearly all the way until the turn was reached, where Thame assumed the lead. Crackshot was alongside of her before she passed Maid of Lome, but she came away in the straight. Lochness challenged her, and a great race was taking place, when Merganser made a great effort with a welltimed rush, and being allowed to get up on the in«ide, got home nicely, Lochness being a good third. St. Katherine, Queen of Trumps, and Rangipuhi were scratched. Div., £S 17s ; time, 3min. 10 4-oth sec. Nursery Handicap : Noyade 1, Zanella 2, St. Cecilia 3 ; time 1 mm 22sec ; div. £4 { 10s.
