Albert Thomas, charged with murderously assaulting John L. Kirkbride, proprietor of the Press, will be brought up tomorrow. The parents have arrived from Christ church, and assert thej are ?n possession of a ceitificate proving aberration of the mind of the accused. They allege he followed a servant now in the employ of Kirkbride from Christchurch, and attribute the assault to jealousy.

At a meeting of the Dairy Association it was resolved to urge Government to send an expert to the Chicago Exhibition with sufficient colonial experience to know what was suitable for the colony, and to bring back specimens of plant, and that Government be urged to appoint a scientific and practical dairy expert to give technical demonstrations.
William Morrin, aged 25, was playing cricket near Roxburgh yesterday, vrhen he was struck on the forehead by a ball, and died to-day.
