The Invercargill Murder Case.

_ -♦ Invbrcargill, to-day. At the criminal sessions this morning John Mcßae was charged with murder. The Crown Prosecutor said he did not intend to present a bill of indictment this session. Sir It. Stout applied for his discharge, contending that the Habeas Corpus Act did not apply in this colony, as there wero no terms as in England, and therefore no subsequent session to commit to, and consequently being no question of bail. The Crown Prosecutor submitted the Act applied, and that accused could only bo discharged on bail. After argument His Honor supported the Crown Prosecutor's contention, and bail was fixed in two sureties of Ll5O each and accused LSOO,
