Caledonian Society.

A meeting was held in the hall adjoining the City- Rink last night, Lieu. Colonel Porter in the chair. It was decided to call the society the Caledonian Society of Poverty Bay. A constitution was framed and bye-laws passed for the management of the society. It was arranged to hold the first annual sports on 2nd January, 1893. A committee consisting of Messrs Birrell, Campbell, Porter, Reid, Robertson and Stewart were appointed to organise a Scotch concert, to be held under the auspices of the Sooioty at an early date. Mr A. F. Kennody was elected as one of the Vice- Presidents. Eleven new members were elected, which brings the membership close on seventy. The annual subscription was fixed at gentlemen 10s, and ladies ss, honorary members pay LI per annum, while L 5 gives a life member* ship.
