It is understood that Franc* will subsidise the New Caledonian sectionEngland the Fijian, and Germany the Samoan. New South Wales will be asked to guarantee the loss during the early stages. It is believed Queensland will co-operate in the scheme. BRISBANE, Feb. 13. .Sir Samuel Griffiths has issued an important manifesto with regard to the sugar trade. He says there is no alternative but to resume Polynesian emigration for a few years, otherwise the industry may be extinguished altogether.
